Samurai Self Defence Kata 2

Samurai Self Defence Kata 2 vs Push Attacks

This is the 2nd of 5 kata that make the complete Samurai Self Defence Kata.  This kata teaches students to defend against one and two handed pushing type attacks.  It primarily adopts techniques studied in Ninjutsu kihon practise to resolve the issue, and uses both Ninjutsu and Jujutsu type footwork.  Although pushing is used in this kata the attacks can easily be changed to punch or armed attacks such as knife or other weapon.

This should be practised with varied starting distances, and especially sudden close range attacks.  When demonstrating this kata during grading it should be against sudden attacks from just outside striking distance and is done at 80%-100% speed.
